I had the privilege of shooting my sister's engagement photos this past weekend while I was in MO. It was lots of fun and they both were really great about trying any kind of pose I wanted to do! :) I had help though getting those smiles! :D If only I got a picture of what my husband and other sister were doing in the background! :D :D

My new photoshop just came in today so I'm really trying to figure it out, isn't happening so quickly though so...this picture will have to do for today. :( Hopefully tomorrow I can figure more out. This one has a "colored pencil" effect on it. Not sure I like it, but it'll have to do! :)

Well since most of today all I've done is butcher a deer I thought this would be a fitting picture! :) This was my first time to be involved in something like this. (Not that I did a whole lot, but I did do SOME) So this is my picture for day 3! We are in the final stages. The roasts are in the freezer and we are grinding the "stew meat" :)

My sister and brother in law had their sweet baby boy on November 2nd. He was 9lbs 4oz. and perfect! :) Here are most of the shots from the shoot! This was my first newborn shoot and it was a lot of fun but I'm seeing there is LOTS to learn! Thanks Jess and Jamie for this opportunity! And thanks to everyone who helped me out! :)

Earlier this week my family and I went to the Nachusa Grasslands for a hike! :) I've been by there many times before on the 4-wheeler but never really knew you could go in and hike! It was SO pretty there though and a great opportunity to get fall pictures!

Okay, so I've been messing around in Photoshop for awhile today and was trying to come up with creative ways to use scripture in my photos. I know these may look a little strange but I was going for more of a "poster" look to them. BIG NEWS- Part2!!!!!!

Well I am SOOO thrilled to announce that Grace Creations Photography now has an active WEBSITE!!!! I LOVE IT!!! Aaron, my Dad's cousins husband, did it for me!! He did a fantastic job I think and it's set up perfectly! :) Please Please PLEASE check it out and let me know what you think! There is still alot that I have to do. I shouldn't even be launching the site until I've got the other pages up but well..I was too excited! :) There are some photos in the galleries and also he has set it up where I can create users for each "client" I have. That way the pictures aren't public to everyone. If I do a session with the family I just create them a user and they login and are able to view all the pictures! :)

I did pictures for Aaron's family actually last night so they were my first "session" to add! It's so great, I seriously love this website! :) CHECK IT OUT!

Part 1 of my BIG NEWS!!!

Okay, well the time has come to post my pictures and tell you the first part of my big news! :) Alright, I must say first that this may not seem like big news to you all or any of you for that matter, but to me it's great news! :) I guess being a photographer and trying to start my own business this is a HUGE necessity and the Lord provided it!!!! :)
Soooo...for my news! I GOT AN EPSON PHOTO PRINTER!!!!!!! Okay, don't be mad, YES it is JUST a printer, but c'mon guys, now I can cut all my cost of using the lab and print at home!!! :) This printer is SOOO nice, it will print my notecards for me, print on canvas, well it will print on most anything. I'm very sad to say that I do not have the USB cord I need to even hook it up tonight, but I was successful in loading the cartridges and plugging it in! ;) Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get the cord AND paper and start printing! :)

I need to say a big thanks to my grandparents who were so kind to even buy me this printer!!!! THANKS!!!! :)

(I was pretty excited seeing 'Grace Creations' on the shipping label! Too bad they spelled my NAME wrong, that's why there is a space between the n and the i) :)

(Due to lack of space right now, my printer is sitting on the floor underneath my computer desk. We are going to try to set me up an "office" in the unfinished part of our business so I can move all my business stuff in there)

Messing With Photoshop

Well, due to health problems and just life problems, I've not been doing TOO many pictures. :) Today though, I did experiement more with self portraits. I guess I didn't post any of them before, I don't really like seeing MY picture on this blog! ;) Anyway, I did think I'd post two pictures real quick though...it's not a good picture, but thought I'd show you what I did in Photoshop. Nothing fancy, just took a majorly dark photo (my fault, didn't have my settings right) so I just basically lit it up in PS. :)

Well today I took a few more pictures of Hanah. I still can't seem to figure out how the focusing thing works. I'll read more in the manual today, but that's one feature I do NOT like if I have to set my focus point by looking at the screen and not through the lens. :( We'll see though....here are some of the pics! I messed around in editing also, so some look kinda weird.

Also, today I took the time to go through everything that came in the box and organized it in my NEW camera case!!! :) I'm not sure I did it all right, it came with tons of foam stuff, so I sort of tore it apart and made my own compartments! :) Here's a picture of it with most stuff in it! The open space to the right is where my camera goes! :)

It's HERE!!! I was SO excited today as the door bell rang and the FedEx guy was there holding the box with my camera in it!!! :) YAY! Finally to have my own camera and knowing I wont have to give it back or anything is just great! :) I'm so thankful the Lord allowed me to be able to get this camera! :) I hope I can use it for His glory.

Well, when it arrived Hanah was asleep and Logan was at school so I unfortunately had no models! :( But, when he got home and of course after homework was done we went on a nature hike and I of course got some photos! :) Now, just so you all know, I didn't pick these outfits out and Hanah had just gotten up from nap. So I hope none of you are offended, but I think she looks quite cute! :)

These are just some of the ones I took. None have been edited yet and I'm still learning to use this camera, I'll need some help figuring it all out. For some reason the focus points are so different, to set them is very odd, haven't gotten it down yet. :(

NEW CAMERA!!!

I am SO pleased to announce that I finally have purchased my very own CANON Rebel XSi camera. I have been wanting to buy one of these cameras for awhile now, but just kept putting it off and putting it off due to not wanting to spend my money. ;) So yesterday, I just decided to look on ebay for camera (never had before) and found many canon camera that were brand new and never opened for sale. I found a package that I wanted and for a GREAT deal!!! :) So, my new camera is on it's way too me! It comes with the camera, 4 different lens', kit lens, 75-300 mm Canon lens, telephoto lens, and a wide angle lens. Also comes with two tripods, a soft and hard case, flip on flash and many other fun accessories. I'm so thankful that I found this good deal and just am praying it's as good as I'm thinking and that I'll have no trouble with it! :(

As soon as I get it I'll post pictures that I've taken from it, so you can see the quality of the pics! :)

Okay I know this isn't a good picture at ALL, but Angie wanted me to get a shot of him like this. I was in a dark bedroom and was trying hard to not use a flash. Well, my shudder speed was so low that I really needed a tripod for this shot and I didn't have one, so...I ended up with a blurry and grainy picture. I'm just wanting to know though what you all think...Black and White? Color? My weird one? Which edited version is better?? Please leave me a comment with what you think.

Recently when doing a project for a friend, I was editing her pictures and basically I told her I could give her a copy of all the prints in color and black and white. So that was my plan, but then on accident I changed the bottom layer to black and white and had the top layer colored, so I messed around with it more and ended up coming up with a new look for her, what I call "weird" :D I know this is probably a common way of editing photos, I'm just happy I figured it out. Today I just took a few funny pictures, so I'll post the color version of each one and then the "weird" version. Let me know what you think, which you like better. :) Oh, and the picture of me is because my little model didn't want to cooperate! ;)

(Oh, the middle pictures is of a dessert we came up with today! We call it, "Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake" It's all sugar free, with chocolate fudge pudding, cheesecake pudding, and then fresh strawberries! DELICIOUS!)

Oh my goodness! I had a whole thing written out about this post and then when I copied it, I forgot to paste and now it's gone! :( Oops! Okay well this needs SOME explanation! I in NO way think these pictures are good, AT ALL, I am merely posting them to show certain people. I had a WONDERFUL time following around Kami, the main photographer at my friend, Lora's wedding, but to my despair, when I imported the pictures they were all blurry and very grainy! :( I was so dissapointed and am realizing I am not cut out to be a wedding photographer, or I just have a TON to learn! I did have an amazing time though shooting at the wedding. Lora was a beautiful bride and the whole wedding was just so pretty! I'm very thankful to Lora for allowing me to get some shots! :) These are just a few of the shots.......I know I know, they are blurry, but...you should see the OTHER ones, they are HORRIBLE! :D

Today I took Hanah back to the park, hoping to get some neat shots of just flowers and anything else that caught my eye. Well, when we got there Hanah started playing and this lady made the comment to me, "Oh, that's what I forgot, my camera!" :) Of course, in my head I was thinking...well, I COULD take some pictures!!! So....I asked her. I told her I could email them to her, if she'd like me to take pictures of her grandsons. I figured she wouldn't want me to, but I was SO excited when she said yes! :) So..as Hanah played, I snapped some pictures of these two little boys. I feel bad though, because they didn't turn out at all like I hoped.. (I guess my pictures never do) but, I didn't bring my reflector or anything, so there are tons of shadows on their faces and one of the little boys was pretty shy and on the move, so it was hard to get him to just sit and smile! ;) Here's what I got though.....

Well, this will for sure be boring, but I wanted to get a few pictures up tonight! :) The rest will come tomorrow, but here are some pictures of crayons I took today. There really is no purpose for these. Although, there is a reason I have a picture of the Oklahoma crayon and the Missouri crayon.

I have a blog counter thing, that tracks from what state my blog views are coming from. Well, I just found out today that on BOTH my blogs, the top state is now OKLAHOMA! I know, I know...I couldn't believe it either, my own home state isn't supporting me! ;) (No, just kidding) I was shocked though, Missouri has always had the most views. The only thing is, the pictures I actually like that I have of them are too small to print, so they would be blurry, SO, yesterday was my only chance to get pictures. :) Hanah was NOT in a good mood and Logan didn't want his picture taken, so well.....THIS is how they turned out. :( Thought I would post them anyway though. :)

-Sidenote: I do not have the 20D anymore to use, so these were taken on the Canon xti, which I think is the camera I will buy WHEN I buy one! :)

Well here are some pictures from the last 2 days. The lighting was really bad last night, so a lot of these pictures are dark and blurry. I'm still trying to get used to this camera! :)

Canon 20D

I am excited to say that now I am able to practice shooting with a Canon 20D. All the pictures I have taken so far were actually taken on a Canon xti, or a Nikon 40D. Yesterday though, Scott, a photographer friend of the family, stopped by and showed me his new 5D he got and also left his 20D for me to use! He explained a LOT of things on the camera for me and taught me a lot. :) One small funny thing was. Scott had mentioned to me before that I should be shooting in manual, Soooo....I have been doing that. Most of the pictures I've posted so far were taken in manual, BUT I thought he meant manual focus as well. I realized yesterday that he never shoots using manual focus! :D I was so relieved to hear this, because some of my pictures, well most, even the ones I posted, have been blurry, because I'm not good at focusing I guess. It's been so nice now though, taking pictures and using the auto focus! Much faster also! ;)

I'm really enjoying the 20D over the xti, because of the capabilities to change the shudder speed and aperture by looking through the view finder. It makes it quick to change the settings, without having to look at a screen to see where your at. :) I didn't think I would mind doing that, but now after using this, I wouldn't want to go back! So, hopefully soon I will be buying a used Canon 20D. I've been told many times they are so outdated, and that may be true, but for the money I have and the quality I want, this camera will be great! :)

Well, I finally have this blog up now. Took me long enough, right? :) I am going to pretty much be using this blog to display pictures I have taken and are working on in PhotoShop. Hope you don't get too bored with all the pictures. This post there are mainly older pictures, or ones I have already posted on my other blog, but they have been touched up some. Enjoy!
